IMPACT: CAPACITY STRENGTHENING
1.
Together with UNICEF India, Rain Barrel Communications in 2019 finalized a set of flexible training modules on Communication for Social and Behavior Change, to be integrated into various master level courses in universities across the sub-continent.
RBC made recommendations to UNICEF India for follow-up activities, including:
A new mapping study of university CSBC capacity;
Developing the Generic Elective as a MOOC, using financial incentives offered by UGC;
Two-day “Introduction to CSBC” workshops for faculty from regional universities;
Incentivizing faculty research and publication in SCOPUS-indexed peer-reviewed journals.
2.
At Rain Barrel Communications, we are 100% committed advocates for the rights of every child - including their right to education and to participate. We therefore frequently work creative formats to help children and young people develop capacity to tell and show their own stories. An example is our partnership with The One Minutes Foundation to empower young people around the world to promote social change.
“UNICEF USA, in its quest to capture the complex and diverse situation of children in the United States in today’s challenging environment, was fortunate after an exhaustive search to engage Rain Barrel in conducting an ambitious situational analysis of child rights in the United States — one of the first of its kind conducted by a UNICEF National Committee. The Rain Barrel team tackled this challenge with incredible professionalism, skill, diplomacy and passion. They went above and beyond to ensure that the report’s data and cutting-edge recommendations would help the organization to make the most strategic decisions around its domestic engagement and advocacy strategy for years to come.”
