Catherine Mbengue
Catherine Mbengue is a human rights professional with over 30 years’ experience in international development cooperation with UNICEF and ECPAT International (an NGO that combats child sexual exploitation). She has led programs in development, humanitarian and transition contexts in Africa, the US, Europe and South Asia.
Catherine has overseen data generation initiatives at country, regional and global levels for evidence-based advocacy and development of policies, strategies and programs. These have been grounded in a human rights-based approach, gender-based and inclusive lenses. She has led technical teams to provide assistance to governments and organizations for the design and implementation of cooperation programs, and the leverage of resources for children’s and women’s rights.
More recently, Catherine offers advisory and technical assistance services to governments, bilateral and multilateral agencies, private sector and not-for-profit organizations in strategic planning and programming for Sustainable Development Goals. She is a Swiss national and resides in Geneva, Switzerland.
