Jeffrey Bates is an expert in behavior and social change communications, advocacy and media relations. He has developed and led initiatives with UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA and several international NGOs in over 30 countries across a variety of programs.

Jeffrey focuses on objective-driven, participatory communication that stresses human rights, cultural identity and individual agency. His efforts for positive social change have resulted in widely recognized successes in behavior change communication, public engagement and advocacy across development and humanitarian contexts.

Jeffrey, a U.S. national, holds an MA in Communications and an MA in International Affairs from Ohio University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Communications, Technology and Society with the University of Washington.
