Michael Klaus

 

Michael Klaus is a Senior Communication, Advocacy and Partnerships Consultant with more than 25 years of leadership experience at UNICEF in Mozambique and the Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa in Kenya, Mexico and Brazil, Indonesia, UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Office in Geneva and the German National Committee. He focuses on co-designing powerful advocacy and engagement strategies with organizations and development partners to protect and enhance the rights of vulnerable families, communities, children and young people. He puts emphasis on the joint analysis of the political, social and cultural contexts to develop goals that bring about measurable, concrete and impactful change. Capitalizing also on his previous experience as a journalist he specializes particularly on developing strategies with offices operating in complex and challenging political and social contexts.

Michael has a Diploma in post-graduate Development Studies and a States Examination as High School Teacher in Spanish and Religious Sciences from the German Universities of Bonn and Kaiserslautern. Besides English and German, he speaks Spanish and Portuguese as well as basic French.
