Four Freedoms Park — inauguration just weeks’ away
Having done some pro-bono work to link the United Nations to the soon-to-be-opened Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island, we were delighted to see this superb architectural perspective on the monument. We are looking forward to attending the inauguration on October 24th.
As the author of the article says, it is a spiritual space. The monumental bust of FDR is accompanied by quotes from his famous 1941 “Four Freedoms” speech to Congress, in which he articulated four essential human freedoms to which he believed everyone was entitled: freedom of speech and expression, freedom to worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
