In Syrian conflict, children speak of revenge… NYT article

I saw this same fierce desire for revenge among children in the Kosovar refugee camps in Albania during the war in Kosovo. Understandable but tragic. Psychosocial support activities were aimed at helping kids process their trauma and restore some shred of normalcy to their lives. Children suffer the most in political and sectarian conflicts and they tend to reproduce the hatred and desire for revenge their parents express. It’s ugly and personal and mixed with confusion, fear and magical thinking. What a terrible heartbreaking tragedy.
