New Director Named to Rain Barrel Communications
Rain Barrel Communications is pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Claycomb as Director. She joins Paul Hoeffel and Robert David Cohen, former senior UN communication officers, prize-winning journalists and social activists, who founded Rain Barrel in 2008. Paula has been serving since 2014 as Project Manager and team member on work ranging from increasing public demand for immunization in Moldova to decreasing violence against children in Cambodia. “Paula’s approach to social change is rigorous technically and ethically at all levels, from families and communities to Presidents and Prime Ministers,” Robert and Paul said. “She revels in engaging with people one-on-one and finding common ground as the point of departure for making change.”
Paula takes on her new role capping a career in Amnesty International USA and the UN Children’s Fund, amongst others. She is based in Taos, New Mexico, where in addition to her RBC work, she gardens, volunteers in pro-social organizations, walks her dog along mountain paths and listens to voice students taught by her opera-singer husband.
As Director, Paula will focus on expanding Rain Barrel’s clientele and on developing impactful, cost-effective communication strategies. Rain Barrel is a media and communications company whose tagline, “Speaking the Language of Development & Social Justice,” sums up its mission and ethical approach.
