Pablo Ramos, presente!

We are shocked and bereft over the news that friend and compañero Pablo E. Ramos Rivero has died. What a black hole he leaves -- but also a shining legacy of quality media for kids, in Cuba, Latin America and globally.

Twice I had to pass up his invitation to take part in his annual Universo AudioVisual de los Niños, but we met on several occasions, in Havana and elsewhere, became friends and planned to collaborate on several projects.

Proud of Cuba's revolution and its commitment to kids, Pablo also recognized its shortcomings, and became a one-man ambassador building bridges to unite his homeland and the global community of kids media people. He was kind and tireless, modest and brilliant.
