Rain Barrel — Panama, Colombia visits
Second and final day of Basta de bullying meeting in Panama concluded on an emotional, positive note. 2013 work plan and milestones approved, with some gaps to fill soon. Campaign partners are amazing: Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Plan International, World Vision, Educational authorities of Sao Paulo State and Mexico DF, and OEI — the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture.
This gives Cartoon Network’s powerful regional media platform a strong foundation in the field with real reach into schools and communities across Latin America.
I may be a dreamer, but I sincerely believe that this multi-year effort will contribute to reducing violence in schools and help build a culture of peace in the region.
On Monday, we took part in the meeting of Cartoon Network and UNICEF, who renewed their collaboration and discussed their work plan for another three years. It was a good, productive meeting, but I confess that it was weird to be in my old office in a totally new incarnation. Ghosts were present — mostly friendly.
It’s been wonderful being back in Panama again. Tomorrow to Barranquilla where Rain Barrel will work with UniNorte University on an early childhood education communication project and have talks with Communication masters and PhD students.
