New publication remembers Jim Grant, champion of the world’s children
There are not too many genuine heroes around these days -- moral giants who fuel progress for all and inspire the best in humankind. James P. Grant, who we had the privilege to know and work with, was just such a hero. Hugely influential during the 15 years of his tenure at the head of UNICEF, he is largely unsung today. This is a case of collective amnesia that, sadly, impoverishes our efforts to make the world a better place.
But here is a small and meaningful remedy: a collection of reminiscences by his closest friends and colleagues that captures not only his legacy as the "savior" of 25 million children, but also transmits vital lessons from his tireless labor for today's world.
Our thanks go out to Roberto Savio, publisher of OtherNews, who asked for our editorial help, and to the contributors for keeping Jim's vision before the public eye.
