Writers Resist!

Out of love and respect for words, Robert and I rallied on the steps of the New York Public Library on January 15​​ at a Writers Resist event organized by PEN. As communicators and writers, we share the deep concern that freedoms of the press and speech are under assault by the President-elect and his minions. The rally challenged the insidious distortions in the flow of information that harm society by diminishing our public trust. ​Hundreds of poets​, playwrights, journalists​ and writers affirmed the power of words, and the need to resist efforts to degrade them​. We marched up Fifth Avenue to bring our protest to Trump Tower. ​
