Social and Behaviour Change
Rain Barrel has extensive experience with the development of social impact initiatives. We specialize in Social and Behavior Change (SBC), which is the art and the science of supporting individuals and groups to shift social norms and adopt behaviors that improve their own, their families’ and their communities’ well-being.
Drawing on our expert Associates around the world, Rain Barrel assembles interdisciplinary teams that use behavioural science and social and behaviour change communication traditions to tackle the multi-faceted SBC process, from research to engagement.
SBC is exciting and complex, as it draws on the disciplines of anthropology, sociology, psychology, behavioural economics and communications. It involves research to gain behavioural insights, and design, testing and scaling up of the right and best solutions and initiatives that can bring about targeted change.
Capacity Strengthening
Rain Barrel designs and delivers training curricula, tools, and workshops tailored to build and strengthen capacity at community and decision-making levels, and within expert groups. We have extensive experience working on this with international organizations, particularly the United Nations system and its operations in the field. Our approaches draw on best practices as well as the wisdom and creativity of participants. We have special expertise in applying participatory and co-creative methodologies with multiple stakeholders, including community members, creative producers, young people and persons living with disabilities.
