“My Village” Inspires Young Laotian Children Three Years Later
Rain Barrel Associate Barbara Kolucki was instrumental in getting this UNICEF-supported TV series for children off the ground in Laos. Now in its third year, “My Village” http://uniceflaos.blogspot.com/2014/03/from-sesame-street-to-my-village.html continues to inspire and educate young Laotian children with fun, true-to-life stories acted out by characters from different ethnic backgrounds and children living with disability. Mimi Phetsomphou, the child actor shown in the photo, remains involved three years later. Barbara is currently working with UNICEF in Fiji, in the wake of yet another disastrous hurricane. Her work on helping children who have gone through traumatic events is available through Rain Barrel.
